Terms of Use
Last updated: August 9, 2026
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using CUE ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
CUE is also subject to Apple's standard licensed application end-user terms (the Apple EULA), which are incorporated herein by reference:
https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
2. License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use CUE for personal, non-commercial use on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and applicable law.
3. Intellectual Property
CUE, including its software, design, branding, and related content (excluding your content), is owned by the developer and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership rights to you.
4. CUE Pro Subscription
CUE offers optional paid features through CUE Pro.
4.1 Billing
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID at the pricing shown in-app at time of purchase.
4.2 Auto-Renewal
Auto-renewing subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
4.3 Managing and Canceling
You can manage, change, or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or via:
https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
4.4 Trials
If a trial is offered, any unused trial portion may be forfeited when you purchase.
4.5 Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple, not the developer. You can request refunds at:
https://reportaproblem.apple.com
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of content you create in CUE (events, tasks, categories, notes, and related data). You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and rights associated with your content.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the App for unlawful purposes
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App except where law permits
- interfere with App operation, security, or availability
- attempt unauthorized access to systems, data, or services
- misuse integrations (such as Apple Calendar/iCloud) in ways that violate third-party terms
7. Permissions and Integrations
7.1 Apple Calendar (EventKit)
Calendar access is optional and user-controlled. If granted, CUE can:
- import events from Apple Calendar
- optionally sync/export selected CUE events to Apple Calendar
- optionally perform auto-sync/import behavior when enabled in app settings
If denied or revoked, CUE still works without calendar integration features.
7.2 Location
CUE does not require device location permission to use location search. If you choose to attach a place to an event, location lookup is handled through Apple MapKit search using the text you provide.
CUE does not provide weather features and does not collect weather data.
7.3 Notifications
Notification permission is optional and used for reminders you configure.
Reminder notifications, widgets, and other device surfaces may display limited event content depending on your iPhone settings and the features you enable.
If you choose to open external links from the App, your browser may connect to third-party sites using the information required for that request.
7.4 Scheduling, Time Zones, and Reminder Accuracy
CUE is intended as a personal planning aid. Event times, time zone behavior, reminders, widgets, and calendar sync may be affected by device settings, iOS behavior, travel, daylight saving changes, calendar permissions, Focus modes, notification settings, connectivity, third-party services, and user-entered information.
You are responsible for checking critical events, including flights, travel bookings, work meetings, medical appointments, deadlines, and other time-sensitive commitments. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that event times, time zone conversions, synced calendar entries, or reminders will always be accurate, timely, uninterrupted, or error-free.
7.5 Siri and App Shortcuts
CUE may offer optional App Shortcuts and Siri phrases that let you add events or tasks without opening the App (for example, "Add an event to CUE" or "Add a task to CUE").
These features are user-initiated. Content created this way is treated like other content you create in CUE, including undated items placed in the Anytime backlog when no date is provided. Speech recognition and Siri processing are provided by Apple; CUE does not retain voice audio.
Availability and accuracy of Siri/Shortcuts may depend on device settings, language support, network conditions, and Apple platform behavior. You remain responsible for reviewing items created through voice or Shortcuts before relying on them for time-sensitive commitments.
8. iCloud Sync
CUE can optionally sync data using your personal iCloud account through Apple CloudKit.
When enabled, your CUE data may sync across devices signed into the same Apple ID. We do not operate a separate server storing your private event/task content.
9. Health-Related Content Disclaimer
CUE may be used to organize appointments or reminders that relate to health or wellbeing, but CUE is not a medical device or healthcare service and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency support.
You are responsible for how you use the App and for the content you choose to store in it, including any sensitive details such as health appointment context or work meeting links. Do not rely on CUE for emergency, urgent care, or clinically critical workflows.
10. Third-Party Services
CUE integrates with:
- Apple CloudKit
- Apple EventKit
- Apple MapKit
- Apple App Intents / Siri / Shortcuts
- Apple StoreKit
- RevenueCat
Your use of these services is also governed by their terms and privacy policies.
11. App Availability and Updates
CUE requires iOS 18 or later. We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the App at any time, including features and integrations, with or without notice as permitted by law. Feature availability may vary by device, OS version, region, account status, or third-party service availability.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, MISSED EVENTS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION ARISING FROM USE OF THE APP.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for CUE in the 12 months before the claim (or the minimum amount required by law, if greater).
14. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer from claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising from your misuse of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.
15. Changes to the App or Terms
We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. Continued use after updates means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory, Australia, unless mandatory local consumer law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.
17. Severability
If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with Apple's applicable standard terms, form the entire agreement between you and the developer regarding your use of CUE, except where additional terms are required by law.
